JAINE GETS IT DONE with unparalleled experience in local government:
-
Supervisor of Town of Mamaroneck since 2022,
-
Town Councilwoman for ten years (five of them as Deputy Supervisor), and
-
Trustee/Deputy Mayor of the Village of Larchmont
JAINE renovated the Hommocks Park Ice Rink and upgraded the Ice Rink locker rooms including first ever female changing rooms and indoor space for summer camp activities enhancing Hommocks as a key recreation center for the whole Town.
JAINE led creation of the first Town Comprehensive Plan in 60 years, setting the framework for a vision for the future.
JAINE obtained a record level of grants for the Town, awarded $8 million, for key infrastructure, environmental and safety projects by her dedicated use of her long and close relationships with State and Local Officials and experience navigating government processes.
Immediately after the horrific October 7th attack in Israel, JAINE led the multi-faith support rally in Harbor Island Park to express sadness and support for the casualties and hostages, bringing together residents, clergy and elected officials.
JAINE is committed to mitigating the flooding issues in Mamaroneck head on and obtained and used grants from FEMA and the County to conduct the first ever, comprehensive stormwater assessment identifying 13 flood-prone areas and she is leading the efforts to obtain funding from federal, state and county sources to develop and implement these projects.
JAINE is an environmental leader, and Mamaroneck is now the 6th highest ranked community in the NY State Climate Smart Community Program out of 1700 communities in NY State. This program that helps local governments take actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate and adapt to climate change, while opening doors to new grants and resources. She enacted a gas-powered leaf blower ban, and with grant funding installed energy efficient systems in Town buildings, planted 110 trees and is installing EV chargers.
JAINE saved taxpayers $200 million in potential fines and brought the Westchester Joint Water Works into compliance with the Clean Water Act, as Chair of its Board.
JAINE oversaw the renovation of the Waverly Avenue Bridge that now provides safe vehicle and pedestrian crossing plus, importantly, improved water flow and flood mitigation for the surrounding areas of the Village, using key funding of $1.75 million from the BridgeNY program and over $2 million from the County.
JAINE is committed to enhancing safety in our community. Under JAINE’s leadership the Town obtained grant funding for a sidewalk on Colonial Avenue, installed Enhanced Crosswalks throughout Town and is installing a sidewalk on Weaver Street.
JAINE supports essential community organizations such as Community Resource Center, STEM Alliance, Coop Camp, Community Counseling Center, LMC Media, the Emelin Theater and others.
